    What do you HATE about Sword Base?

    It's a widely known fact that "Sword Base" is a heavily unbalanced map, that is easily won by those who camp the top. Without stating the obvious- What problems do you have with the map? If you could change ANYTHING about sword base (in the sake of fixing it) what would you want to see? Would you like to see more accessibility to certain areas? certain weapon spawns? Nothing is taboo!

    But seriously, it's a camper's paradise. It's all about getting the sword/shotgun/grenade launcher, then camp the 2 tops; It's ridiculous.

    Right, I am re-mastering this map in forge, in an effort to eliminate the issues with it, primarity the aforementioned. Are there anythings in particular you would suggest to correct it?

    The problem is that there are not enough ways to get to the top. Too many choke points.

    Well, I almost exclusively play SWAT, and it's my favorite map to play when running SWAT...

    I don't much mind the camping. I like it when people camp in SWAT, because I think it's a fun challenge to dig them out and smash them. The map can actually prove to be very dynamic when two equally matched teams meet.

    My biggest issue with it is that if you're playing a halfway decent team, it can at times be difficult to get from the bottom/Sword level to the mid/top level. An easy solution is to improve protection over the lower bridge. Anyone on one of the two higher bridges, the vent, or bottom/top of Red can pick people off as they try to cross the bridge with no difficulty, unless the player on the bridge is good enough. That's my big beef with the map.

    Yeah agreed faceless..id say that having someone spawn sword sucks, and maybe we can add a lift to say shotgun..the room to the right of sword..looking at sword has a funny, maybe we can add another lift that takes you up to shotgun..so that way you have cover tbere as well

    This whole thing would be less problematic also if the landing of Red Lift had a bit less exposure to the outside. It's way too easy for someone to pick them off from the Vent as soon as they come out of Red.

    But yes, the problem is choke points making it easy to stop all traffic going up top.

    I've been playing with the idea of how red lift exits, giving it a feel similar to blue lift, as to exposure, I am going to be restricting view to low bridge, and opening up both gold lift and vent to more fire/visibility than before.

    I might even add a gauss hog.

    I agree. It's for campers. You just have to change your game play to compete with all the campers

    The choke points are the problem. Give a little more cover and a few more ways around and it will be golden. Add a window to the wall of Gold lift so you can shoot in more easily and it fixes the camping there.

    Remove the sniper from the map and switch shotty and sword spawn, and I'll show you some other areas you should fix and close off though it'll change the map quite a bit.

    See, I'm keeping snipe, but I'll be moving it, as that will be red spawn now. Sword is good where it is, but shotgun needs to move IMO. Already know where I want it.

    My remake, now known as "Machete" is in testing phase. I need to add in ability for objectives yet, but Team Slayer works fine! First round of testing was all positive reviews!
