Do you guys think my PC can run this game?

I wanted to get Cod 5 for my laptop so I can play the custom zombie maps, but my PC doesn't meet the recommended requirements. Here are my system's specs.

    Operating system: Windows Vista
    Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 2.10GHz
    Memory (RAM) 1.00GB
    System type: 32-bit Operating System
    Memory: 17.5ish GB

    Here is the recommended settings.

    Processor: AMD 64 3200+/Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHz or better
Memory: 8 GB free hard-drive space, 512MB RAM (XP)/1GB RAM (Vista)
Graphics: Shader 3.0 or better, 256MB Nvidia GeForce 6600GT/ATI Radeon 1600XT or better

I thought I might be able to run it on the lowest in game settings, and on my highest PC operating settings. (High Performance) So do you guys think I could manage to the zombies on this computer? I have run L4D on my computer on the lowest settings and it was okay but, whenever there was a horde there was 4/10 percent chance it would get very very very laggy. I do not plan on playing online, just solo. So do you guys think I could run it on my computer?

It will run it. But how well is the question? Its gonna look like crap, and be really laggy with all the zombie hordes.

Yeah, I don't really mind the graphics since i have played them on the xbox so graphics arn't a goal. I hoping for as little lag as possible on some cool maps. I also could see if once and a while my dad will let me use one of his computers if I can't get it to work.

Your RAM is kinda low, and the processor is similar to mine. What kind of graphics card do you have?

    Also, recommended =/= minimum.

He speaks the truth. It should work, but not well. It is less that the graphics may not look good, its more that the graphics processor isn't able to handle the necessary rendering (in a reasonable time span) and will slow down your FPS. Not to mention with the low RAM, My doubts go to being able to install it. You say you have 1 GB installed, bets say your computer allocates a portion of that to long-running processes- You're probably actually running somewhere around 960MB, which is under the minimum requirements.

As far as visual lag goes, beyond FPS, We'll need to know what GPU/Card you have. With a machine as you've described, I'm guessing its onboard graphics- perhaps an intel chip on the mobo. IF that's the case, you won;t be able to play it.

This is all general speculation though. A more thorough overview of "can my computer run *X* with *Y* specs can be found here: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/intro.aspx

I personally don't care if it looks like Halo 1. I see there are lots of options for graphics and other settings that you can set to be lower than the normal. So that might help a bit with the gameplay issues a bit. I was able to do that for l4d, when there are more zombies (sometimes) coming and it only lags sometimes and when it does it will probably be during hordes. So I shouldn't expect to make it past round 10 but, I think I could get it to work okay. I am also considering getting another GB or ram in the future so when I do that will probably help.

Do you have the full specs of your computer, your kind of giving us barebones information. There's plenty of ways to run diagnostics that give you the full rundown. Also try finding a Demo or something and see if that works.

PS:Adding RAM won't really help if your graphics card and stuff isn't up to snuff. Whats the point of running the game i f on the lowest settings? Sounds like a waste of money IMO, just get the console version.

If it does it won't be worth it in my opinion... Especially when gameplay gets heated.

I will check my graphic card. I think it will be good enough for the requirements, but I will look if I can get more info.

Ok, since you finally told us the name of your graphics card in chat which is a ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 series, I don't think the game will even be playable at all. I mean the game is on sale right now for 15$, but I don't think it is even worth it to try. Since you're on a laptop, you won't be able to get a better graphics card.

True, but I could probably set the graphics to look horrible. Which I don't really care about the graphics.

Don't even bother buying the game. It is completely unplayable. Your graphics card only supports a 2.0 pixel shader. In order to play World at war, you need a 3.0 pixel shader. If you try to play, the game will go black and you will get an error. So the final answer is no. Sorry.

Dang well that sucks, I can look into using one of my dad's computers for playing but it seems like that won't be possible.

If you can post the specs of your dad's computer, I can help you out.

I'm sure his a good enough since they are much newer and better than mine but, I can't get to them at the moment. I could just check myself and it will probably be good enough. It is more of a matter if he will let my use it for gaming or not. Thanks anyways.
