Halo 4 Starting Guide: Campaign

People of HaloCommunity, as you all know we are now just about a week away from Halo 4, so let's acquaint ourselves with the game a bit more closely. Although a good many of you have been keeping up with the many updates, there are many who may have not. So let's look over what we can expect come its release on November 6.

First, let's take a brief look at Campaign:

"Wake me when you need me."

Halo 3 ended with the UNSC frigate Forward Unto Dawn being torn in half by the collapse of a slipspace portal. Master Chief and Cortana don't make it through, and we are left watching Master Chief entering cryonic sleep, telling Cortana, “Wake me when you need me.” If you completed the game on Legendary, you the see the piece of Forward Unto Dawn floating towards a large, looming planet.

From Xbox: A powerful and riveting campaign. Brace for a thrilling, action-packed adventure deep inside a mysterious new world to confront the gravest threat humanity has ever faced. Harness a vast arsenal of futuristic human and alien weaponry, abilities, and vehicles as you step back into the boots of the Master Chief and wage a desperate war against an overpowering new nemesis and a deadly new class of technologically advanced foes — the Prometheans — that will challenge you to employ innovative new combat tactics.

Now, fast-forward five years. Here we are with Halo 4: Cortana is waking the Chief up, and they're headed towoards a planet we now know is called "Requiem". Cortana the AI has woken up Master Chief, and they find themselves on a direct course to land on Requiem, which appears to be the primary setting of the game. The characters of Master Chief and Cortana will most certainly encounter new challenges and obstacles on this mysterious planet, headed directly into the heart of uncharted territory. Not only can we anticipate a major change for these characters, but we players can expect some new and unknown territory ourselves. For ten long years we've battled the religiously fanatic Covenant, whether it was in the shoes of Master Chief, an ODST, or those of Noble 6... But now we face the Prometheans.

I can't wait for this.

I'm really looking forward to fighting the Prometheans and figuring out the most effective way to kill each. It will be nice having some Covenant still involved for familiarity's sake, but they really did have to bring something new into the mix. And (some will hate me for saying this), I can't tell you how happy I am that the Flood won't be there!

The flood simply do not belong in the story, and are not canon. Honestly, those who disagree with you will get the most hate.

I'm really glad they didn't bring the flood in as well me and a buddy at work were talking and he was telling me him and his brother use to play ce and they couldn't play any map with flood cause it would give him nightmares(he was 4 at the time they were playing)

Flood did the same to me when i was playing (I would of been 5 or 6 then) duffy so your buddy wasn't the only one.
