Introducing Halo Community Missions!!!


What are they?:
They are like beefed up daily challenges related to just a game or two. You get points and player page awards and compete with your friends for bragging rights. Here take a look at BTB Team of One Mission.

How it works:
Go to a mission detail by clicking a link on the Mission Control page, read the debriefing, and then submit a link.

What are Tiers?
We wanted everyone to be able to participate so we have tiered the missions for up to three tiers, Tier 1 being the easiest. You can submit Tier 1 and then go back and submit Tier 2 or 3 later on. Or if you nail it in one shot, just select Tier 3 from the the submission form on the mission debriefing screen.

How do points work?
You get however many points are listed for the tier, each tier does not sum up. Tier 3 will give you however many points are listed for tier 3. So if I have 25 points from a mission I completed tier 2 on and go back and complete tier three which is worth 50 points I will receive 50 points total for the mission. Do not worry higher Tiers will always have higher points.

Where does difficulty fit in?
Difficulties allow us to set a point range for missions. For instance, a normal difficulty mission will have a max tier point value of 26-50. Missions with 3 tiers will be closer to their max point value for their difficulty. It is also useful if members want to sort the mission list difficulty column.

1. Easy - Up to 25pts
2. Normal - Up to 50pts
3. Heroic - Up to 100pts
4. Legendary - Up to 150pts
5. Mythic - Up to 200pts

Can I submit old links?
You cannot submit links older than the created date in mission control.

Why was my submission returned?
A couple of reasons are, you did not complete the Objective for the tier you requested credit for or your link was not viewable as submitted. All links as show in the first below should have a gamertag in them. If you are logged in by default they don't show the gamertag, using the form below the submission form, type in your GT and click View Game History!, this will allow you to copy the proper link.

When can we expect new missions?
You can expect to get a mission every Monday for May and June. Everyone say it with me, "Mission Mondays!" Then 1-2 missions will be added every month.

Are there Leader Boards?
Currently planning out the leader boards. You will be able to filter by game, difficulty, mission type, and even filter for only your halocommunity.com friends as well as do an in-depth player to player comparison. Leader board will default to most recent Halo game even though an overall leader board can be pulled.

Wait, why is the tier description different than what it was yesterday?
Things do not always go according to plan, sometimes the mission changes for one reason or another. We will be fair in these changes and try to keep them to a minimum to prevent a lot of confusion. This is a new system, so points may need to be reevaluated when we get more missions in the system. Users regardless of when they completed the mission will all receive the most recent points listed. All changes will be as fair as we can possibly make them.

One question, though:
In Reach daily/weekly challenges, Sniper Kill medals count towards the headshot count. Is it the same idea with these challenges (whenever a headshot requirement for a certain tier is listed), or does it need to specifically be a Headshot medal?

Headshots, in any shape or form, will be allowed, unless the challenge specifies "DMR Headshot" or "Sniper Headshot".

then select which mission you would like to do.

follow the instructions to complete the mission in Halo Reach.

Go back to the page http://halocommunity.com/forums/missions.php and submit the gamelink from waypoint of the game that you did the mission in and which tier you accomplished.

A member of staff will review the game and make sure that the mission was accomplished successfully and will give you the appropriate award

That depends on the challenge. Some of them, Yes. It should be fairly clear on the missions page, if you open each mission, and read the briefing.
