HC Tournament to Win Halo 4

Halo Community is proud to present our most competitive tournament to date! This is your chance to WIN Halo 4!

That's right, you heard me...

The winning team of four will ALL recieve a copy of Halo 4 the day it is released!

Yes, we will deliver it to your door! Whats that? You want more?

Ok, all members of the runner up team will recieve 1600 Microsoft points cards!

If that isnt enough, we will make it rain avatar codes thoughout the tournament for random players doing random things

HaloCommunity.com's second tournament codenamed "Flag Dropped" features Halo: Reach gameplay on a community designed map by Noooooch, titled "Crypt".

This tournament is a 4v4 type in a Capture the Flag format featuring the TU settings. We are only accepting 64 teams total and it is first come, first serve so register early. Each member of the team must have their own registered HaloCommunity.com account (its free), and their gamertag (that they are using in the tournament) must be linked to their HaloCommunity.com account (input the gamertag into the "gamertag" field during registration.

As always there will be a player page award for participation as well as a player page award for the winners! The winners will also receive the coveted orange chat-box color!

Sunday, May 20th, 2012 at 3:00 pm EST

How much does it cost to register for the tournament?
Absolutely nothing, nada, zip, zilch. Playing in this tournament is absolutely free.

I see no reason why there would be a limit on that. We don't record clan or community affiliation during sign-up. The tournament is first come-first serve.

Just for clarity, I have a couple of questions I think I already know the answers to, but . . .
1) A single player/Gamertag can only be on one team right?
2) We are using TU setting (meaning current modified bloom settings) right?

1. Is there just the 1 map for this tourny?
2. In case of a tie what happens? keep playing till a win happens or is there a time limit
3. is it mlg settings? ( no radar )
4. Is there a host check before games to rule out the bad connections?

1. Yes there is only one map "Crypt"

2. In case of a tie, there is a tiebreaker gametype (HC CTF Tiebreaker):
Score to win: 1
Flag return time: 5 seconds
Flag reset time: 30 seconds
7 minute time limit, 30 second sudden death
~ All other settings are the same

3. No, it is not MLG settings, the settings are as follows:
CTF 4v4 Gametype Settings:
TU Reduced Bloom
Score to win: 3
Flag return time: 3 seconds
Flag reset time: 15 seconds
Flag at home to score: Yes
DMR/Magnum, Sprint, 1x frag
12 minute time limit, 30 Second Sudden Death
Player Respawn: 10 seconds; 3 second suicide/betrayal penalty
~ All other settings are Default Matchmaking CTF as of Mid-April

4. Host check is TBD

This was changed post-tournamnet announcement. Downloading the latest from Deja's fileshare will have it set to the above settings. This was an oversight on my part.

I wish this was on a Saturday instead of a Sunday. I have Grad rehearsal sometime that day. Can I ask why this will be going on Sunday? Is it because most people that work are off on Sundays or is there not a reason in particular? Just curious.
